Review:
Recently I have started with Python and I can say I was still novice when I have started reviewing this book. I was also new to NumPy and thought this book will be good to start with (as it titled Beginner’s Guide) . NumPy is basically Python package for scientific calculation and to handle multidimensional array, when started with first chapter where explained about installation and nicely explained. I was excited to start with NumPy from second chapter and believe me it was really fun to start with. This book mainly concentrate on practical and less theory (as it is titled on front page “Learn by doing: less theory, more results”) so while you are reading this book it is advisable that you are on computer to test each every example and it will be fun to do that.
Two things I really like in this book are “What just happened?” and “Have a go hero…”.
“What just happened?” – Give you summaries about what you just learned.
“Have a go here…” – Practical challenge related to recent topic and really encouraging.
If you are theory lover than this book is not for you but really recommended for practical lovers. Only complain is too less theory, sometime need to refer other resources to get detailed.
